Strøby Maskin Værksted ApS is a family business run by Lis and Jens. Lis is the blacksmith's wife.

She is a trained kitchen assistant, but for the past several years she has participated in the workshop and taken care of the office work.

Jens graduated as an agricultural machine mechanic in 1984 from J M Svendsens Maskinfabrik in Holtug near St. Heddinge. After graduating, Jens joined Gjorslev Estate as a blacksmith and worked there for 10 years. In 1994, he started Strøby Maskin Værksted in Strøby with repairs of agricultural machinery and blacksmith work, especially the construction of special machines. Here he also started building the first two self-propelled sprayers and a self-propelled rebuilt Nordsten seed drill for the local agricultural association. All three machines are designed to run in agricultural test plots.

Gradually, the self-propelled sprayers evolved into what we know today as the Speedy 2500. Approximately 20 of these have been produced, 10 of which operate in Sweden. Recently, an advanced PLC control system with an accompanying touchscreen has been introduced, which makes many functions automatic. We have built a self-propelled tool carrier for testing the Swedish Gothia Camæleon seed drill and several other types of test seed drills for various agricultural associations in Denmark.
We also make:

    • Specialized machinery for vegetable production
    • Weedvipers in 12 meter version and an 18 meter on the drawing board
    • A special seed coulter for precise grass seed placement that can be built on almost any seeder
    • Return threshing systems for combines
    • All types of agricultural machinery when access to the machine's computer is not required
    • Repairing worn parts for machines
    • Forging in steel, aluminum and stainless steel
    • Plasma cutting of steel, aluminum and stainless on CNC plasma cutting machine, including drafting
    • Complete custom machines to order - from start to finish including design/drawing work, steel work, surface treatment, hydraulic, air and electrical systems
